We’re happy to report that our brand new Green Captain role is going well – we’re all getting used to separating our paper and plastic into the new recycling bins, and the carpooling strategy is proving a big hit with those who don’t live within walking or cycling distance of WANdisco HQ, but who still want to be eco-friendly.
You may remember, that when we announced the Green Captain role, we also pledged to get involved in charities based near our offices in Sheffield, UK. We’re proud to announce that we’ve signed up for our first fundraiser of 2012: the Master Cutler’s Challenge.
The Master Cutler’s Challenge is one of the largest annual fundraising events in the region. Each year, organizations from across the region put their entrepreneurial skills to the test, using a £50 initial investment from the charity to raise as much funds as possible over the space of a few months. This year, the Master Cutler’s Challenge is raising funds for Cavendish Cancer Care.
We’re proud to be part of one of the most established and respected annual fundraising events in the region, and we’re looking forward to some joint-fundraising fun with all of our neighbours in the Electric Works, who have also taken up the challenge!
The challenge will run from now until the end of September, 2012. Keep checking back for updates on how we’re doing! And good luck to everyone else who is taking part in this year’s Master Cutler’s Challenge.
